About SKAR
What is SKAR?
SKAR is an acronym for “Survival Kit After Rapture” and is a simple box with a magnetic closure containing an explosive message of Hope inside. The box contains a NKJV Bible and letter addressed, “Dear Left Behind.” The letter is futuristic in nature and is written to a people after the rapture that did not accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. The purpose of the letter is to reveal truth and direction concerning the time they will live in as well as give peace and a path to salvation.
Who is SKAR for?
SKAR is for anyone wanting to share Jesus in a creative way. SKAR is also for everyone who has not given their life to Jesus on this side of the rapture AND especially for those on the other side going through any part of the tribulations.
Why buy SKAR?
SKAR truly is a creative tool for sharing Jesus with others. You can display it on your countertops or coffee tables. Somewhere in plain sight. It’s a great conversation starter for close family and friends in the home. It also makes a great gift to the saved and unsaved. My hope is that SKAR opens doors to minister to the unsaved, ultimately to those who are here after the rapture, but I pray many people are able to read the SKAR letter beforehand and receive salvation to avoid going through the terrible time of the tribulations. SKAR also stirs evangelism in the hearts of God’s people creating an awakening to the times we live in. I believe it will excite and quicken us to partake in the great commission.
What is the vision for SKAR?
My vision for SKAR begins with my belief of where we are on the timeline God has graciously given and set for mankind. To be clear: I am NOT setting dates as to when all things end, but if you have eyes to see and ears to hear, you too sense the return of our King Jesus in this hour.
I believe with all my heart the church’s time here on earth is short. I think of Jesus returning for His church at the “rapture” and I can’t help but think of the people who will be left behind and how confused they will be. As a way of explaining the vanishing of millions of people from the face of the earth, numerous forecasts have already been made of an alien invasion, which is in direct opposition to the truth of God’s Word. They will try to plant seeds of confusion after the rapture and many will believe this “alien invasion” lie over the truth of the church being caught away with Jesus. We need to counter that lie on this side of the rapture by allowing the Gospel to have its place, so that truth can be ministered to people’s hearts and not believe this great deception.
I’ve had the name “Survival Kit After Rapture” (SKAR) and its contents on my heart for about 20 years now. I knew I wanted to write a letter addressed to those left behind explaining what has happened and what to expect in the days ahead. Recently, I’ve sensed an urgency to quickly develop and manage what the Lord has put in my heart to do. NOW is the time!
This has been a difficult letter to write, because I envision people reading it on the other side, knowing the terrible times they will have to endure. My hope and vision is that many will receive SKAR on this side of the rapture and get saved. I pray this becomes a witnessing tool and a great conversation starter in homes as our unsaved friends and family see it sitting in plain sight and ask “what is this?”
Everyone seems to have questions about the end times. Even Hollywood is obsessed with end of world movies, disasters and apocalyptic events. So why not use it to our advantage?! Why not steward the emotional instability of our times by bringing hope in a positive way?! People seem to be most receptive in desperate situations. We hear the expression “keep your head on a swivel” often in our circles. It is primarily used as a caution, but in this case, it’s used as a line of help and rescue to the people around us. Be available and listen for those with in your reach who are hungry for Jesus.
SKAR may not be the familiar salvation invitation used, but I pray great favor for those who pick it up. There is one way to God: Jesus! But there are many ways to Jesus, and my hope is that SKAR can be one of those ways and a tool to Jesus for you and those left behind.

Hello, my name is Ginny Houser.
I grew up on the West Coast, where the natural beauty shaped my early years and where I gave my life to Christ as a teenager. After nine years in Oklahoma, where my husband and I met at school, we felt led to move to Iowa. Now my husband and I live out in the country near my three daughters, son-in-law, and two grandchildren, surrounded by the support of extended family.
In 1985, I graduated from Rhema Bible Training Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma where I began my ministry journey. Since then, my passion has been to reach the world with the life changing message of Jesus Christ.
Over the course of 35 years serving at the local church, I began by working in children's church and then moved to help in youth ministry for over eight years, teaching the Word and directing the youth drama team. After those wonderful years with the youth, I moved to teach adult Sunday school classes, lead Bible studies and prayer groups, and provided one-on-one Biblical instruction and counseling to women.
I have been blessed to be a featured speaker at women's conferences, local churches, as well as churches on the West Coast. My husband and I continue to help in the ministry and counsel married couples together.
My desire in all of this has always been to see the lost come to know Jesus, the sick be healed, and the captives set free.
